In this article, DraftKings is introducing a new subscription service named DraftKings Sportsbook+ to enhance the betting experience for its customers. Priced at $20 per month, the service was quietly launched on Dec. 28 for selected customers in New York. It offers subscribers a profit boost of up to 100% on winning parlays. For instance, a two-leg parlay receives a 10% boost, a six-leg parlay gets a 50% boost, and an 11-leg parlay enjoys the full 100% boost, with a maximum eligible bet of $25.
New York serves as a strategic testing ground for DraftKings due to its strong performance in the online gaming market. The company may also be aiming to mitigate high taxes in the state, as New York imposes a 51% sports wagering tax, sharing the top spot with New Hampshire.
DraftKings recently reversed its decision to impose a small tax on customers in states with multiple operators and tax rates exceeding 20%. This move is closely monitored by industry peers, as DraftKings seems to be the first U.S. operator to introduce a subscription service, focusing on the lucrative parlay betting segment.
According to DraftKings, the subscription service aims to elevate the fan experience by adding excitement and value to their wide range of parlay options. The news was initially disclosed by Sportico, but the company has not disclosed the number of subscribers signed up to date. The initial month is offered free of charge, after which the subscription fee will apply.
Although currently exclusive to New York, DraftKings is contemplating expanding the service to other states in the future.
